The part nobody photographs

A good repair can look effortless—after the checks, the setbacks and the quiet corrections.

There is a photograph of the finished piece. There is rarely a photograph of the third measurement that made it fit.

An ordinary sequence

First comes the assumption. Then the inspection that proves it wrong. Someone sets the part back on the bench, checks a reference edge, cleans a connection or changes the setup. Nothing dramatic happens. The job gets better.

Small things are the work

A prepared surface, a square corner, the specified torque and a cable routed away from heat do not make exciting pictures. But they are what the next person depends on. Pride in workmanship often looks exactly like taking time over a detail nobody will ever ask about.

Tell us how you got there

That is the sort of story we want for DIRTY HANDS: what was wrong, how you found it, which method you chose, and what you would do differently next time. Results matter. So does the knowledge that produced them.
